Shanghai Murder

Shay O'Hanlon and her cadre of friendly misfits from Minnesota are visiting Portland in search of new joe for Shay's café at the annual Big on Beans Convention. The crew is poised to spend an awesome weekend flying high on Voodoo Doughnuts and a surplus of caffeine. But bad java, stolen ammunition, and a dastardly conversation overheard throws all the fun right out the Oregon Convention Center's window.

Shay's innate nosiness thrusts her into the middle of a deadly, sasquatch-sized deal-gone-wrong, and soon she's on the run through Portland's underground Shanghai Tunnels with a couple of murderous goons on her tail.

Meanwhile, Mom-to-all Eddy has spent the last few weeks either sleeping or pounding energy drinks like she's under contract with Red Bull. When Rocky's wife, Tulip, literally disappears with a couple nefarious "friends" while checking out Stumptown's eerie, crumbling Witch's Castle, Eddy must shake off her lethargy and do something before poor Tulip is toast.

The differences between life and death and death and life are a fine line. For Tulip, Shay, and a little girl named Lira, that fine line couldn't be clearer.
