Chicagoland writerLiz Samuel Richards has published dozens of articles in ptint and online trade journals both under her own byline and as a ghost writer. Her short fiction has won local and national competitions.
In 2018. She co-authored "Run, Jane, Run...We Need You in Office!" encouraging women to consider running or volunteering in the political arena and showing them how. "Silent Witness," her second book, tells the story of Verna Sadock, Chicago's courtroom sketch artist who covered and illustrated landmark trials from the turbulent. 1960's until her retirement at the end of 2012.
Liz is a graduate of Duquesne University and mother of a grown daughter. As a young girl, home for Liz was the suburbs of Philadelphia and then Chicago. Always inspired by the dream of living in a big city, however, she spent several years on Chicago's Near North Side before moving back to the suburbs with her black cat, Phoebe. Now she says short stays in the city recharge her and broaden her perspective. At home, she can often be found sitting on her tree-shaded deck, writing about topics and people of interest, or listening to a Chicago baseball game, hoping for the best!
