Public țintă

Anyone prescribing or fitting contact lenses or involved in their research and manufacture:
  • Optometrists (UK 8000)
  • Dispensing Opticians (UK 3943)
  • Some ophthalmologists (probably about 150 ophthalmologists are involved in contact lens wear in the UK and have their own society MCLOSA)
  • Manufacturers and big contact lens companies (Bausch and Lomb, Ciba Vision, Vistakon)
  • Contact Lens Educators (eg IACLE in Australia)
The key association in the UK is the British Contact Lens Association with whom we have a copublishing agreement. There were 600 delegates at the June 01 BCLA annual conference. In the USA in late 90s nearly one third of the 29 million contact lens wearers were wearing a continuous wear lens but the number fell due to problems with corneal ulceration. Many clients and optometrists have now changed back to continuous wear lenses with the launch of PureVision and Focus Night and Day in 2000.

This book is a copublication between BH and the British Contact Lens Association.
