Textul de pe ultima copertă
The first edition of "Grundbau" was published over 100 years ago in 1907. From the 15th edition in 1974, the work was divided into two volumes. Since the previous 19th edition of Part 1, which was published in 1994, the regulations have changed considerably and the methods for constructing foundation engineering structures have developed further. A comprehensive revision was therefore necessary.
Part 1 provides all the important knowledge required to understand the interactions between the subsoil and the structure. The book is intended to enable young engineers to recognize problems specific to foundation engineering and to provide them with proven solutions. Furthermore, the user is familiarized with earth static calculations and the relevant DIN standards. The content
Concept and task of soil mechanics - The subsoil - Geotechnical investigations - Soil parameters - Water in the soil - Stresses in the subsoil - Strength and deformation properties of soils - Verification concepts/standardization in geotechnics - Earth static calculations - Earth pressure - Improving the properties of the subsoil.

This book is a translation of an original German edition. The translation was done with the help of artificial intelligence (machine translation by the service DeepL.com). A subsequent human revision was done primarily in terms of content, so that the book will read stylistically differently from a conventional translation.
