Notă biografică

Dr. Waldo Lopez-Aqueres was born in Cuba in 1939 and immigrated for political reasons to the United States in 1961. He earned a Master of Arts degree in economics and a Ph.D. in urban and regional planning from the University of Southern California. As a senior researcher for the South Coast Air Quality Management District in Southern California, he conducted economic impact assessments of air quality regulations and performed policy analysis of transportation programs. He also served as director of economic policy research at the Tomás Rivera Policy Institute, Claremont Graduate University, until he retired in 2006. Throughout the years, he has authored numerous publications and lectured in microeconomics, macroeconomics, managerial economics, business economics, urban studies, and statistics at various universities and colleges, including the University of Southern California, California State University at Los Angeles, California State University at Long Beach, Devry University, Mount San Antonio College, and Santa Ana College. In 2012, he published his autobiography Clashing Waves: Memories of a Cuban Immigrant. Dr. Lopez-Aqueres is the father of two, grandfather of five, and he lives in California with his wife of fifty years.
