To begin the story of Sip Sap it is important to know some background about the people who believed about him and came up with the legend of Sip Sap. Sip Sap had a life and story much like the Nez Perce Nimiipuu Native Americans who tell the story from elder to youth in tribal gatherings after and around times when tribal members gathered to celebrate and sing songs together and beat drums, and dance at festivities. Long nights were not left empty, they were filled with colorful creatures that became very important in the culture of life and living.
