Recenzii
...the text is readable and interesting...Summing Up: Recommended. Upper-division undergraduates. Graduate students, faculty, and professionals.
Sleep Science is comprehensive in its coverage of sleep and the current state of understanding in the field. The book features the past, present, and future of sleep research and science. The book is easy to read, scientifically accurate, and full of beautiful figures and illustrations. It is quite in depth in many areas yet is an excellent introductory material and therefore would make use as an excellent textbook for an undergraduate sleep studies course. Sleep Science is a great addition to the growing library of sleep textbooks.
There is a great need for undergraduates to be taught about sleep and its impact on daytime wakefulness. We should all welcome this new book as a tool to help in this important goal. Now students throughout the world will learn that DROWYSNESS IS RED ALERT!"-William C. Dement, MD, PhD, FAASM, D. Sci (hon), Professor Emeritus, Stanford University School of Medicine
Want to learn about sleep? From how much a lizard sleeps to the pathophysiology of narcolepsy, Sleep Science covers it all. This outstanding textbook provides students with an accessible resource on the field of sleep, incorporating the latest research from basic and clinical science."-Jodi Mindell, PhD, Professor of Psychology, Saint Joseph's University, Associate Director, Sleep Center, Children's Hospital of Philadelphia
An eminently readable, fascinating and informative look at the universe of sleep as seen through the eyes of a 'who's who' list of sleep experts, Sleep Science should be on every college student's reading list (and bedside table)."-Judith Owens, MD, MPH, Professor of Neurology, Harvard Medical School
