Notă biografică
PJ McDermott was born in Scotland in the town of Paisley, near Glasgow. As a boy he would "plunk" school and head to the local library to read any Science Fiction books he could lay his hands on. His favorite authors were Asimov, Herbert, Niven, Moorcock, and Le Guin. Probably the book he most enjoyed, though, was "Lord of the Rings" by Tolkien. "It was the grandest of adventures, exotic locations and magical characters that drew me in. Seriously, I read it at least six times!"
These days, when he has time to relax (which isn't often,) he enjoys the fantasy novels of Robin Hobb, George Martin and the modern SF writers, Vaughn Heppner, and Alex Weir.
The author has published the 4-book science fiction adventure series Prosperine which includes The Alien Corps, Rise of the Erlachi, The Scarf, and Fractured Prophecy. All are available as e-books or in print, and The Alien Corps and Rise of the Erlachi are also available as audiobooks.
The acclaimed semi-biographical, coming of age novel, "Small Fish Big Fish," was PJ's first novel, and has recently been rereleased as "Caught in the Long Grass."
The author now lives in Australia with his wife, Sue, two daughters and grandchildren, Mia, Ryder Patrick, and Ethan.
