Notă biografică

Author George Stormont of Duluth, Minnesota, was born in 1909 in Birmingham, England, and knew Smith Wigglesworth personally as a friend and a colleague for many years. Born again in June,1918, he has served the Lord faithfully as school teacher, Bible college teacher, pastor, and evangelist.He entered the full-time ministry in 1933. In addition to pastoring five churches in England, he pastored Duluth Gospel Tabernacle in Duluth, Minnesota, for five years. He served as superintendent of Elim Pentecostal Churches, England, for a quarter of a century, and for many years, he was a member of the Elim Church Inc.'s executive presbytery. In addition, he served as national secretary of the British Pentecostal Fellowship and member of the following missionary councils: Elim Missionary Council, The Pentecostal Jewish Mission, Congo (now Zaire) Evangelistic Mission, and Russian and Eastern European Mission.In 1963, he was invited to pastor Bethshan Tabernacle, Manchester, at the time the largest Assembly of God church in Great Britain. He transferred his membership then to the Assemblies of God, and in 1974, was elected chairman of the Conference of Assemblies of God. In addition to pioneering new churches, Stormont conducted evangelistic and teaching crusades all over the world. He was married to Ruth Kingston in 1938, and they had two children, Andrew and Deryn.
