Perry, author of "Black Fatherhood: Exploring The Importance Of The Black Father," takes another in-depth look into a very controversial issue plaguing the black community. This time around Pierre explores domestic violence and abuse against black women. Domestic violence is a crime that affects all races, socioeconomic levels, and cultures. But experts say that black women are at a greater risk to experience the grimmest of all domestic violence statistics. Black women are about 3x's more likely to die at the hands of a partner than members of other racial groups. Even though domestic violence is not just an African-American problem, African-Americans are more disproportionately affected by it. But just like in his aforementioned book, Pierre didn't just rely on statistics and the so-called experts for information, once again he went straight to the real source---The Black community. He interviewed black women and black men from all around the country to get their views, stories, lessons, and opinions on such a touchy and personal subject.
