A deep love for the rhythm and tempo of life is naturally infused into my poetic journey. Lyrical passions reach into my soul calling forth expression. I write for my life; lying words like stepping stones on barely discernable ancient paths reflecting a universal mosaic is my offering to you. This collection expresses the soul of a woman, uncensored. Over the past year, I have woven transcendent impressions into this poetry. The Collection chronicles life, hopes, dreams, romance, loss, social misgivings, and observations of future possibilities for our world. Internally, my process of collecting and organizing even tiny impressions from life's archives has been an ongoing practice since childhood and is best summarized by "Intuition." This poem describes an aspect of myself I could not understand - until I began to write. Within a week of my mother's passing in 2010, I became profoundly aware that a powerful element of her life force had moved into me. I had no idea at the time how this energy would reorganize and transform my creative spirit. The only book she left of interest was a collection titled "Prose and Poetry of the World" 1941, L.W. Singer publisher]. Classics by Titus Livius, Henrik Ibsen, Euripides, Plato and the translation of "Arabian Night's" by Lane, still cherish her book marks. Before I began this collection I had only penned five poems, "The Maiden, Edges, Balance, Intuition, and Synergy." Deconstructing my life through thoughtful reflection ultimately provided the answer to a universal human concern: "What is MINE to do"? I waited. "Deconstruction" was the first poem of a 107 written over a year, specifically for this Collection. Poetry is provocative by its very nature; reflectively personal, often simultaneously universal. To me, this is the mystery that is poetry; to discover the essence of a breeze is to know the wind; to feel the echo of your heartbeat is to know love. The gift of poetry is bestowed when you, the reader, becomes captivated by the journey long enough to discover the key and unlock your own internal path to the spirit that guides all poets, conveying new found awareness to your total being When asked, about my experience writing, I describe "A sensual flow of intimate energy inviting me to capture its spirit, on paper."
