Evelyn Emerson, a small town Georgia girl falls for Adam, a robust and handsome medical resident in S.New Eden, Georgia while her two best friends Patricia and Cissy create their own man drama. They are Ms. Joy's girls.

They do the things that we've done, the things that we sweep under our bedroom rugs at night and pray that nobody stumbles over. They do what they have to do to get what they want; and Evelyn definitely wants Adam.
