Squib-Kick It to a Fat Guy]]
Autor Alan Burton Cuvânt înainte de Barry Switzeren Limba Engleză Paperback
In today's college football world, Washington State University coach Mike Leach stands head and shoulders above his coaching peers when it comes to quotability. "Leachspeak" has evolved from the scripture of Bear Bryant, the folksy, descriptive stories of Darrell Royal and Spike Dykes, the one-line humor of Lou Holtz, the confidence of Barry Switzer, and even the head-scratching, syntax-challenged misstatements of Bill Peterson.
Prior to taking over the WSU program in 2012, Leach enjoyed a 10-year run of success at Texas Tech. Here, for the first time, is a collection of Coach Leach's best quotes.
Some samples from Squib-Kick It to a Fat Guy:
On executing an onside kick against Texas:
"The plan was to squib-kick it to a fat guy. Of course, the fat guys at Texas are nimble and they have good hands."
On rule changes:
"I really don't know what all the rule changes are for this year, but I'll figure 'em out by halftime of the first game."
On an upcoming Texas Tech season:
"Well, outside of Lubbock, expectations aren't very high. But it's okay, we play in Lubbock a lot this season."
On his team's lack of focus:
"As coaches we failed to get through to them, and as coaches we failed to make coaching points and our points more compelling than their fat little girlfriends."
After beating Texas A&M:
"Once in awhile, a pirate can beat a soldier."
