was really curious how this trilogy was going to end; could the story come to a satisfying conclusion while still connecting somehow to the yet-to-be-concluded storyline of the game? Turns out, yes, yes it can, and it did. The book starts off with the resolution of one problem only to leap almost immediately into another, bigger problem. The looming threat of Garnok's return, hinted at since book one and building steadily over the course of the trilogy, comes to a head in this installment. Ultimately, though, the story this book tells is less the story of an eldritch horror knocking at the door of our reality and more the story of four girls coming into their own both as ordinary individuals and as a magic-wielding sisterhood. In that regard it dovetails perfectly with the game, doing an excellent job of establishing the Soul Riders and their relationships with each other while managing to both give them a challenging adventure and still leave things open-ended.
