This book examines the constitutional provisions in relation to freedom of religion in Malaysia. It mainly focuses on the impact of the constitutional provisions on non-Muslims particularly in relation to change of religion and prohibition to use certain identified Islamic words and expressions. In essence, this book is analytical, inductive, critical and comparative. It surveys the main gamut of freedom of religion in Malaysia with judicial decisions and legislative provisions.

Prof Dr Mohd Altaf Hussain Ahangar teaches law at Sultan Sharif Ali Islamic University, Brunei Darussalam. Earlier, he taught in India, Nigeria and Malaysia. Specialization fields include Family Law and Constitutional Law. He has published two books and seventy one research papers. He has made presentations in 13 countries covering all continents
