Notă biografică
Toiya Sosa is the associate vice president and chief diversity officer for Riverside Health System, and an award-winning community leader with significant experience collaborating with diverse organizations to build understanding, appreciation, and support for BIPOC and underserved communities. She is responsible for the ongoing development, implementation, and oversight of the organization's diversity, equity, and inclusion strategy. She has an extensive background working with senior management and across divisions to promote diversity and inclusion initiatives, and has demonstrated success working with many high-profile people, including Rev. Al Sharpton, Roland Martin, Marc Morial, Virginia senator Mark Warner, and General Colin Powell's nonprofit staff at America's Promise Alliance. In addition to previous experience in print and television at the New Journal and Guide and WAVY News 10, Sosa has co-produced and hosted her own radio show on WTJZ 104.9. Sosa has received several accolades, including the UNCF M.A.S.K.E.D. Award, Top 50 Most Influential Leaders in Hampton Roads by Inside Business magazine, and the Humanitarian Award from the Virginia Center for Inclusive Communities. She serves on the board of directors for the Urban League of Hampton Roads and the United Way of South Hampton Roads Women United. She is also the chair of the UNCF Virginia executive council and vice chair of the United Way of South Hampton Roads African American Leadership Society. Sosa resides in Portsmouth, Virginia, and is mother to Alex and Elani Sosa. She holds a bachelor's degree in mass communications, a master's degree in business administration, and a master's in law.
