Notă biografică
Dr. Medhat A. Nemitallah is experienced Associate Professor Rank with a demonstrated history of working in the higher education and industry. Dr. Nemitallah had strong education and professionally graduated from Alexandria University, MIT, and KFUPM. He is specialized mainly in experimental and numerical combustion, clean combustion technologies, hydrogen mobility, hydrogen production, and carbon capture techniques for the control of global warming. Dr. Nemitallah has been involved in research projects with the industrial sector in Saudi Arabia including Saudi Aramco and SABIC companies. In addition, he had the chance to have international collaboration with international institutions including MIT, University of Rostock (Germany), Air products, US DOE, and NETL.
Dr. Habib is currently Professor at KFUPM. He obtained his Ph.D. from Imperial College of Science and Technology in 1980. He worked as Visiting Professor in The University of Arizona, USA, and Pennsylvania State University, USA, in addition to Cairo University. Dr. Habib has a vast experience in research development and achievements. His work covers experimental and theoretical science, fundamental and applied research. Dr. Habib is Recipient of “excellence in Research” Award at KFUPM three times (during 1995, 2010 and 2015) in addition to Distinguished University Professor Award in 2019 and Khalifa Award in 2020. Dr. Habib worked as a PI and Co-I in Saudi Aramco and SABIC client funded projects, NSTIP projects, Excellence Center for MIT-KFUPM collaboration, KACST, and Excellence Center for Renewable energy. The courses taught by Dr. Habib cover all levels in the area of specialty of thermofluids and related areas.
Dr. Ahmed Abdelhafez is Research Scientist in the Interdisciplinary Research Center for Hydrogen and Energy Storage in King Fahd University of Petroleum and Minerals, Saudi Arabia. He specializes in the fields of clean hydrogen energy and fuel/oxidizer-flexible combustion technologies. He received his Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering in 2009 from the University of Maryland, College Park, USA. In 2011, Dr. Abdelhafez joined General Electric Global Research in Niskayuna, NY, USA, as Lead Combustion Research Engineer, working on the optimization and experimental testing of dry low emissions (DLE) gas turbine combustor components, with the goals of emissions reduction and fuel flexibility. Between 2013 and 2016, Dr. Abdelhafez was Faculty Member in Cairo University, Egypt, and Consultant in the Development Research and Technological Planning Center of Cairo University, offering consultation to the Egyptian petroleum, chemical, and food-processing industries in the applications of combustion, energy conservation, and environmental compliance.

Textul de pe ultima copertă
This book overviews combustion technologies and novel burner designs for reduced emissions and better fuel economy. It covers the recently developed enhanced design burners for higher turndown and lower NOx emissions, including the dual annular counter rotating swirl (DACRS) and enhanced vortex/environmental (EV) burners. The concept of flame stratification, i.e., heterogenization of the overall equivalence ratio, is introduced to widen the operability, control the emissions, and improve the turndown ratio of combustors. The recent developments and challenges toward the application of hydrogen combustion in the industrial combustion systems are introduced. Moreover, energy and hydrogen production in novel membrane reactors are reviewed in this book.
