Stuart O'Grady

Autor Stuart O'Grady
en Limba Engleză Hardback – 28 feb 2014
In 2007 Stuart O'Grady abandoned Stage 8 of the Tour de France after crashing on a descent and fracturing eight ribs, a shoulder blade, collarbone, three vertebrae, and puncturing his right lung. But you can't keep a tough nut like Stuey down and, true to his name, 'Mr Indestructible' got back on the bike as soon as he could to keep up his track record of appearing in every Tour since he made his debut in 1997. Flash forward to 2014: if O'Grady starts next year's Tour he will enter the history books as the firstever cyclist with 18 Tour de France participations under his belt.

But that's not all he's achieved: the same year of the famous crash he became the first Australian to win a major classic when he won the Rock of Roubaix. He boasts titles from the Commonwealth Games and Olympics; has been named Australian Cyclist of the Year and Australian Male Road Cyclist of the Year; won the inaugural Tour Down Under; and has a well-earned Order of Australia Medal in recognition of his contributions to the sport. In this up-front and honest autobiography Stuey reveals all, from his talented cycling family and how he started a training diary at age 13, to how he met his wife (on a podium!), and his current regime.

His style is absolutely candid, down-to-earth and genuinely endearing; this is one Aussie sportsman who knows how to spin a great tale!
