Notă biografică

Bonnie St. John Deane was the first African American to ever win medals in a Winter Olympic competition, despite having her right leg amputated at age five. She won a silver and two bronze medals at the 1984 Winter Paralympics. Beyond her Olympic success, St. John graduated with honors at Harvard, won a Rhodes Scholarship, earned numerous sales awards at IBM, and was appointed by President Bill Clinton as a director of the White House Economic Council.
