Recenzii
"This is a much-needed book that will be of use to those tasked with the care of our precious stock of pre-1919 brick-built properties by helping them to recognise and better understand the principal causes of decay and failure of bricks, brickwork, terracotta and various traditional mortars utilised in their construction and articulation. Rather than exploring techniques of repair and maintenance, this work deliberately sets out to concentrate on the many inter-connected historical, technical and scientific aspects, studied in a logical and comprehensive manner, specifically intended to provide a more informed and methodical approach to surveying historic brickwork." - Dr Gerard Lynch, Freelance Masonry Specialist, Educator and Author, UK

It aims to ensure that those who have a cause to survey and assess buildings constructed of traditional (pre-1919) brickwork have a well-developed, clear methodology for undertaking effective, comprehensive surveys.
