Set in 1950s Los Angeles, Swill of Pearls tells the story of a group of lost souls who have stumbled upon a trailer court, each struggling to find a new life. The court's unusual manager, Robbie, offers stimulating morning coffee sessions in the hopes of inspiring this cobbled-together group of unlikely tenants who have somehow been drawn to this eccentric last resort. Long-time resident Quila, a cryptic-tongued Gypsy, has her own selfish reasons to attend these sessions. Only mysterious Robbie is immune from the schemes of this uncanny fortune-teller. Things run smoothly in this "court" with Robbie at the helm, until the arrival of Gussy, a broken young artist with secrets of her own, but with an unquenchable curiosity that innocently causes the unraveling of the riddle of Robbie, and finally forces the acceptance and solving of strange relationships.
