During the reign of Grand Master De Rohan, a young aspiring knight from Brittany is sent to Malta to join the prestigious Order of the Knights of St. John. He carries with him those precious documents which prove his nobility without which he could never become a knight. His papers are stolen during an unfortunate encounter during his voyage. The result is a gripping story of tragic love, treachery, crime and murder
