A. Javier Trevino is Professor of Sociology at Wheaton College in Massachusetts, U.S.A. He is the author and editor of several books including, The Sociology of Law: Classical and Contemporary Perspectives (St. Martin's, 1996), Talcott Parsons Today: His Theory and Legacy in Contemporary Sociology (Rowman & Littlefeld, 2001), Classic Writings in Law and Society: Contemporary Comments and Criticisms (Transaction, 2006). He is past president of the Justice Studies Association and serves general editor of the Law & Society series, Transaction Publishers.
