Tales of the Holocaust

Autor Ira Ivan Cochin, Dr Ira Ivan Cochin
en Limba Engleză Paperback
Philip Gringiul was a Holocaust victim. When he was 12-years-old, he rescued 200 Jews from certain death during the holocaust. He was caught by the SS and they sent him to a concentration camp. There, a surgeon performed medical experiments and mutilated him --- leaving him unable to talk and unable to use his hands. Dr. Ira Cochin, is a victim of hereditary illnesses that robbed him of sight and hearing. He was born missing central vision. This did not interfere with most activities, but he was unable to read a book. When he was 12, he became knowledgeable of machines, and that influenced all his activities. Dr. Cochin used those skills to create machines that served as hands and others that talked. These devices were actuated by the feet. These two gentlemen had opposite handicaps, yet they had intertwined needs and abilities. Dr. Cochin had developed all the devices that would completely compensate for Philip's handicaps. Then they met, and worked together for a year. At the conclusion of their work, Dr. Cochin gave Philip all the equipment that would enable him to mainstream. In particular, one device was a typewriter that was actuated with foot pedals. Philip then used it to type the major portion of this book with his feet. This is Philip Gringiul's life --- his full story, written by him, is the backbone of this book.
