Notă biografică
Honza Kourimsky is a Czech born guitarist/composer/performer. After enrolling for a degree programme in the Scottish Capital, Edinburgh, Honza was quickly identified by staff at Edinburgh Napier University as "one to watch" with regards to his exemplary playing technique/musicality, approach to work and his interactions with fellow musicians. Since graduation, Honza has more than lived up to this early promise. He has continued to base his life in Edinburgh, his playing and musical production enriching the life of the capital city and taking him throughout Scotland, the UK and Europe. His work to date has included the arranging and performance of several albums and EPs, singles and classical scores. His work within musical theatre has featured his writing and performance skills within several productions at the prestigious Edinburgh International Fringe Festival gaining four star reviews in publications across the UK. He has also composed several musicals for theatrical runs back in his homeland, the Czech Republic, which have been very well received by critics and public alike. Honza works with several Edinburgh based music education programmes, providing a large roster of students both guitar and music theory studies. As if all this was not enough, Honza heads up and performs with six different bands from funk to progressive improv. based music. In 2020 Honza was approached by GMI - Guitar & Music Institute to be one of the main writers within the company, a chance that he grabbed with both hands. This publication, his first for GMI, has been the result of hundreds of hours of teaching and performance in the field. The material within this book has been more or less tested to destruction. Honza has undertaken all composition, analysis, transcription and performance of the content so that the user of this first book can hit the ground running from the first page and expand on their tapping knowledge and technique.
