Notă biografică

Dr Ranjana Tiwari is an accomplished academic with a Gold Medal in her Postgraduate studies and has earned a PhD in Tourist Destination Image and Attributes. Her dedication to research has been recognized through the University Grant Commission – Junior Research Fellowship Award in Tourism Management & Administration. Apart from editing and exhibiting her creative talents by visualizing and creating cartoon illustrations for this book, Dr. Tiwari's influence extends to her role as a Co-editor of another book, 'Wellness and Wellbeing Tourism – Trends, Opportunities and Challenges,'. Furthermore, she has served as a Guest editor for the Special issues of 'Gastronomy and Wellbeing' in the International Journal of Spa and Wellness and 'Health-oriented tourism' in Tourism Recreation Research. Her impactful research and academic work have made significant contributions to the field of tourism and hospitality. Recognizing the importance of education, Dr. Ranjana develops tourism and hospitality teaching cases as a valuable tool for educators. Her outstanding accomplishments were further acknowledged when she clinched the European Foundation for Management Development (EFMD) Case Writing Competition under the 'Family Business' category alongside (late) Dr. Debapratim Purkasthya.
Dr Madalyn Scerri is a senior lecturer, researcher and higher degree research supervisor  in hospitality, tourism and service management with a Ph.D. from Southern Cross University, Australia. Her research investigates the dynamism of service experience, behaviour and systems in a range of service settings, including hospitality, health care and peer-to-peer accommodation. Through this lens she has developed expertise on transformative spoken service language in service interactions, with attention to the increasing significance of service for human flourishing and well-being. Passionate about empowering equal access to tourism and hospitality, her research interests and industry collaboration further targets inclusive education, employment and skill development for the hospitality workforce of the future. In recognition of her research and supervision, Madalyn has been awarded two international research funding grants by THE-ICE (2024, 2021), Torrens University Australia’s Research Excellence Commendation (2021), HDR Supervision Excellence Award (2020) and Early Career Research Excellence Award (2019). Madalyn is co-lead of the Tourism and Hospitality Research and Practice cluster in Torrens University Australia’s Centre of Organisational Change and Agility (COCA).
Dr Cindy Lee is a senior lecturer, researcher and Higher Degree by Research Director – Business and Hospitality with a Ph.D. from Torrens University Australia. Her research interest lies in the tourist experience, with particular focus on tourists’ photo-taking and online photo-sharing, and the integration of social media in contemporary tourism. Cindy is also interested in the study of emotional experiences, with recent works delving into tourism, hospitality, and education services. Having been in tourism and hospitality education for over a decade, she has taken interest in exploring hospitality education in the shifting landscape, including how educators can teach and train soft skills. She has also published in the area of hospitality workforce management. Dr Cindy Lee has received numerous awards and grants for her research work, including the ECR Research Excellence Commendation (2024), CAUTHE 2022 Award for Best E-Poster, two Torrens Global Education Fellowship research grants, and the Torrens University Australia 2020 Higher Degree by Research Excellence Award. She was also awarded the Professor Susan Holland Fellowship research grant in 2016.
