Notă biografică
Trained in Uganda as a veterinarian, Patrick moved to the USA in 2000. He successfully completed the Education Commission for Foreign Graduate licensure program to be licensed by the National Board of American Veterinary Medical Association. Currently, he is a partner in one the renowned veterinary hospitals in Boulder, Colorado where he practices veterinary medicine. Patrick lives with his wife and 2 sons near Boulder, Colorado. As part of giving back to the community, Patrick gives talks focusing on his early life in Africa. He has spoken to numerous schools and charity organizations and at immigrant conventions. Patrick also gives lectures on veterinary medicine and Animal Welfare. On the 14th of February 2014, He spoke as one of the international panel of guests discussing the Anti-gay bill in Uganda, featuring the academy nominated documentary "God Loves Uganda". Boulder International Film Festival, BIFF, brings films and filmmakers from around the world to Boulder every President's Day weekend for a four-day celebration of the art of cinema. BIFF attracts over 20,000 film enthusiasts, media, and industry each year. Aside from the occasional letter-to-the editor in Uganda's newspapers, Patrick's published writings are mostly in the field of veterinary medicine. His professional works include Infectious diseases in and around Kampala (Makerere University Press, 1998). The Daily Camera, a leading newspaper in the Boulder area, interviewed Patrick in 2004. The story, "Vet From Africa Finds a Place," became front-page news with good follow-up commentaries and opinions from readers. In 2005, the local PBS television network covered Patrick visiting and lecturing at the Brideun School for Exceptional Children, a school for gifted children with special needs.
