Most of the regional studies in India have large state syndrome. This detailed work on Tripura tries to fill up this void. The regional studies help in learning lessons from within the country experiences and also within the state itself. The work focuses on technological dualism, technological change & yield gap in rice production, crop diversification, education & reproductive health attainment, rural-urban gap & gender disparities, probit estimates, efficiency analysis & discriminant analysis for health & education status. The analysis go at different levels, state, village & especially at the block level.
