Harley Brandt, at the age of 7, is the only witness to the murder of her mother, gunned down by a drug-crazed thug. Filled with a sense of purpose far beyond her years, she learns to defend herself, joins the LAPD and serves as an exemplary police officer but a robbery-attempt gone bad forces her to reevaluate her career and make a major life change. Relocating to the small Colorado town of Telluride, she begins working as a Sheriff's Deputy. Intense flashbacks and nightmares about her mother's death begin to fragment her well-structured life and a growing attraction to the town Sheriff only complicates matters further. When they are unexpectedly thrust into a deadly situation together, Harley finds herself fighting her feelings for the man - and fighting to stay alive.
