The 15th Chair

Autor Matt Galeone Editat de Beth Williams Ilustrat de Tracie Schmidt
en Limba Engleză Paperback
Years ago the United Territories was invaded and devastated by The Armada, an advanced alien empire. They genetically altered select humans to create warriors to enlist in their struggle against a rival empire. One of those altereds, Adam Darvin, rebelled. Adam led a band of rebels known as The Alliance against The Armada. They won the war, but it cost Adam his life. Three years later, The Alliance has worked to rebuild their world and cope with the loss of Adam. The United Territories is poised to come back from near annihilation and The Alliance can see the possibility of a brighter future. However, threats to that future are emerging. Hate groups lurking in the shadows are planning to strike out at The Alliance. Ruthless politicians within the fragile new government are plotting to overthrow the current Alliance-friendly administration. Then, The Alliance receives a terrifying message: A significant off-planet threat has been identified. The Alliance must face the possible return of The Armada and the prospect of standing against it without Adam Darvin. Without Adam The United Territories needs a new hero. Two cloistered mysterious groups, using opposite methods, have begun training their own candidates to become that hero. Will either candidate be ready to stand with The Alliance and defeat The Armada, or will they become a new dangerous enemy? Politics, prejudice, and the possible return of The Armada drive The 15th Chair's intricate plot as its compelling characters explore themes of bravery, fear, want, self-determination, and hope. The 15th Chair is the start of Matt Galeone's next epic and like his first trilogy, The Champion of Clarendon Ditch, it is a sci-fi story that goes beyond superheroes and space aliens.
