But even with the benefit of his newfound friendship, Luke is unable to flee from his needs for redemption and salvation. Then suddenly, an unexpected run-in with a troubled girl named Lena pushes him out of his usual state of indifference. His relationship with Lena gradually enables him to confront and overcome his demons, and, with Lena's help, Luke takes the necessary steps to mend the deep rift with his daughter.

The past haunts Lena as well, but she doesn't have the courage to contend with the puzzling secrets buried in her mind.
