Throughout history, black women have experienced extreme challenges and criticisms from both their white and black counterparts. As a black woman, I can't ignore the struggles we have to overcome daily or the strengths that we gain from those struggles. The Beauty of a Black Woman is more than a book of poems and prayers, it's also covers a variety of topics that affect black women: Self-Esteem, Abuse, Love, Relationships, Motherhood, and Religion. I encourage black men as well as black women to read, "The Beauty of a Black Woman," to gain a greater appreciation for our culture and for a deeper understanding of what it means to be, "A Black Woman."
