I always felt a flash of danger when I navigated the halls of the nursing home. Emptiness and death lurked in every corner. No escape. The residents were helpless and had none to watch their back. The perilous journey my brother and I had in the nursing home was like traveling barefoot in the desert. We had plenty of food and water but no direction. None noticed. No rescue.
