In 1967 a scrawny, scared kid named Billy Bascom volunteers to go to Vietnam and volunteers for the scariest job of all--tunnel rat. Somebody has to go inside those deadly tunnels and destroy them. Nobody else wants to go there, but Billy is eager to explore the darkness under Vietnam. But the tunnels hide a secret that no American soldier is prepared to understand. Billy discovers the Black Butterfly Woman and is about to find that there is more mystery under Vietnam than any American soldier should ever have to face.
