In this companion piece to the original "The Blooming of the Lotus," Brooks begins "The Blooming of the Lotus for Professionals" with her address to the Domestic Violence Task Force in Greenfield, MA, in 2016. This is followed by further information about the repercussions of being a survivor--all from a survivor's viewpoint--as well as specific recommendations for therapists, healers, educators, medical professionals, judges, and other supporters of survivors. Included is a grouping of poems from her original book, which--though much abbreviated--still gives a sense of her story and the progression of her healing journey.
