A boy of unknown origin is found near death in a small upstate town. He's taken to a local hospital in a comatose state where the staff soon uncovers a variety of physiological anomalies in their patient, including ultra-sensitivity to sunlight. When a retired NYC detective becomes involved, he psychically experiences an intense case of the "heebie-jeebies." The boy eventually recovers but remains plagued by what his neurologist feels is psychosomatically induced amnesia. What follows is a mysterious tale involving many of the physical traits commonly associated with vampires. However, gone are the fangs, blood and gore of previous vampire lore. Found Instead are a strange assortment of physiological oddities, an extraordinary level of psychic development, and the need to feed upon human psycho-sexual energy. Hypnotic therapy soon reveals the boy is being hunted by an amber-eyed beast, intent on killing him. His conundrum is that the more he recalls his past, the greater his risk of being detected by this malevolent beast.
