The Breaking of the Shell

This is the story of forgiveness for a small girl who grew up during WWII on the island of Java in the Far East and who was imprisoned in Tjideng, the notorious Japanese concentration camp for women and children. After the war, she was moved from one foster family to another in Holland throughout the rest of her childhood. After having trained as a nurse, she spent forty years in an abusive marriage. This is the story of her pilgrimage of faith and forgiveness and God's grace.
