The Bristolian Volume 2 ¿Moving on from almost three decades under British Rail, this second volume covers the years when the railway industry was dragged into the 21st century through privatisation. No longer one big amorphous organisation, it was broken down into smaller units which at least allowed the workforce to feel a sense of ownership of their part of the business. Despite initial scepticism, it created opportunities for the individual to flourish. As time marched on, the author gradually realised that he was more predisposed to the world of railway operations rather than engineering. It was something which came to fruition during the final decade of his career; a time when he learnt to appreciate the importance of teamwork resulting in a desire to give something back by sharing his years of knowledge and experience.
