The eponymous first part of the Clairvoyant Picture Trilogy, it tells the story of how a painting called 'The Art Thieves' goes on show in the Midas Art Gallery. Some months later the painting is taken by four burglars. Work by an unlikely pair of detectives leads to the recovery of the stolen picture and it goes on show again to tremendous acclaim, the media giving it the epithet 'The Clairvoyant Picture'. The Gallery showing it soon finds it is unable to cope with the demand. As a result a new Art Gallery is built for just for the picture and all the attention makes the artist wealthy so Sarah and Peter buy a stately home, Oddsmore Hall. The Standish story is far from finished as they started the Clairvoyant Collective company and diversify into catering, but a struggle for the market is just about to start.
