The relationship between Sherry and Warren is romantic. Their relationship is deeply passionate and sexually intense; however, their love is faced with barriers of color, and plagued by issues of race in the minds of families on both sides. Race can especially become an issue for a person of mixed race who is not considered black enough by African Americans, nor is he accepted by those who are not black. Sherry is a single woman who struggles to make her ends meet, but hopes that, one day her skills in fashion design will bring her success. She is very smart, naturally beautiful and highly sensual. Her past relationships have left her feeling disappointed, sad, isolated and worn out. She is scared and hesitant to put trust in any man again, but she is a woman who is sensitive and desires a man to care for her. Warren is a handsome man with an athletic built. He is serious, but also has a desire to live life in its most vibrant form. He has ambitious plans to turn the auto industry around. The industry has been hammered by the rising gas prices. His plans are confronted with the question: Why should anyone invest in his plans when there are already large auto companies investing hundreds of millions and doing all that can be done?
