Orphaned by the deaths of both her parents, twelve-year-old synesthete Rowan must cling to the heritage they've left her in order to save her big sister from depression. Armed with a book about the Medicine Wheel, the Native American's way of spiritual healing, and her best friend Liam, she runs away to Yellowstone National Park to study her medicine totem-the timber wolf-and bring back Cheyenne's cure.
