The Creed

Autor MR Jim E. Reames
en Limba Engleză Paperback
"The Creed" is the story of two WW-II veterans. Japan's Major Yamotto Nakashia barely survives the horror of the atomic bomb destruction of Hiroshima. He becomes a post-war industrialist who helps rebuild his beloved city, as an outspoken pacifist while inwardly harboring extreme hate, and a samurai warrior's need for retribution. To survive, he sets up counter intelligence of General MacArthur's staff and uses prostitution to get closer. Meanwhile, America's, Major Paul Turner returns to Oroville, California from combat in the South Pacific where he gets married, starts a family, attends church, and becomes a "War Hero" high school teacher. These two veterans' lives cross, resulting in Yamotto being arrested for war crimes by the U.S. Army, and before Paul Turner meets the sexually seductive middle aged Japanese woman he made a combat widow. This cliff hanging, action-packed, novel fully documents the post-war reconstruction of Japan, birth of the "Cold War," birth of the "Iron Curtin," birth of communism in Korea and China, and how the seeds of war were planted in Vietnam, while General MacArthur and President Truman disagreed on just about everything. If you are a Vietnam era veteran this story documents events that the U.S. military failed to teach those of us who served in the armed forces during that war. It uses hundreds of news media headlines and facts of history from (1945-1951), linking them to this very believable story, to correlate the past to the present, and even to the future. "The Creed" is one of those novels that can make your next three hour long flight feel like it was just one. It documents why there were so many Japanese war atrocities, from China's Nanking (in 1937), to the Bataan Death March (in 1942). It compares segments of Western Civilization to Eastern, including Japanese attitudes about communal bathing, sex, Geisha girls, Shintoism, and even Japan's annual rituals of fertility. Through the lives of the main characters, you will read about post WW-II mental trauma, (both in Japan and in the United States), what it was like for the Japanese following post-war surrender, to include the lives of surviving Japanese widows, children, wives, surviving Japanese soldiers, and how the atomic bomb changed everything. Read how Japan crawled out of the bomb crater to become a major world-class industrialized nation, while seeking peace. If you are sick and tired of today's political divisions, "The Creed" offers the reader a very informative and gripping look at the past, from 1945 - 1951. "The Creed" sets the stage for the second book, "GBA2017" when the son of Major Paul Turner (John) is a 71 year old sheriff in Boise, Idaho who has watched the demise of Western Civilization to the point he is now (in 2017) under a court order to close down his own church, just prior to the rapture. The third book in this series is of Boise Idaho's Sheriff John Turner being raptured just before and after that event. Author, Jim E. Reames is a subject matter expert of cybernetic warfare for the U.S. Federal government. His master's degree thesis before 9-11 was on international terrorism, asymmetric war, and organized crime. He writes, and self-publishes, novels for a hobby. All of the novels by Jim E. Reames are available on Amazon as e-books, at reduced prices, and also as paperbacks.
