Thomas Obinkaram Echewa is a prolific author of literary and children's fiction born in Aba, Nigeria in 1940.\n\nEchewa moved to the United States in the early 1960s, earning a Master's degree in journalism and eventually a doctorate in communications.\n\nHis debut novel The Land's Lord won the The English-Speaking Union prize in 1976 while his 1992 novel, I Saw the Sky Catch Fire was a New York Times Notable Book.
