The Crow and the Raven

The children's book, "The Crow and the Raven" is a story about how a raven boasts about his shiny black feathers, and the crow feels he is good because he has a loud "caw." The raven shows crow how much better and important he is than crow, which leaves crow feeling sad. The raven realized he hurt crow's feelings and tells crow that "we are all put on this earth for a reason, and you are special too." Raven and crow are friends again.

The moral of the story is that everyone is special and we are all here for a reason. The story is written in English with some identifying words in Kwakwala. Kwakwala is the traditional language of the author, Sophia Hansen, who teaches the language in preschool programs in Campbell River.
