Notă biografică
Derek Farmer was brought up in a coal mining village in West Yorkshire and graduated with a degree in chemical engineering. He subsequently joined his wife, Jan, into the teaching profession where he quickly became the head of the mathematics department in a secondary school. He wanted to make mathematics more fun for students and had a series of three textbooks published, called Getting on With Maths, which were designed to do just that. Derek has three children and three grandchildren and recently had his first children's book published, a fantasy novel called Somewhere in Yorkshire. He loves to spend quality time with his family.
