In the struggle between evil and good The devil cobbler of Otranto is an example of what man should never do if he wants to live without the obsession with power and money. Master John wants money, power and eternal life just as Dr. Faustus by Marlowe, but while Faustus is defeated because he wants to become himself a God, the cobbler of Otranto beats the Hell out of three devils and wins thanks to God's help. Those who pray and call upon God to speak to their aid are never left alone to face life's difficulties. They have their free will and can choose between death and life, evil and good, Hell and Heaven, Lucifer and God.
