Descriere
Lucy, the Devil, wants to retire. After untold centuries of ruling Hell, Lucy looks to escape her responsibilities and enjoy all that life has to offer, including repairing her relationship with her ex-lover, Death. But first, Lucy needs a suitable heir. Her own twin children are either incapable or entirely uninterested in succeeding her, so Lucy is forced to outsource a reliable replacement. Brian Lachey is bored. Being a skilled, albeit underchallenged business advisor leaves him mourning his lost passion for his career and wanting more. His aptitude for his role, however, has put a bad taste in the mouths of his colleagues who are constantly overshadowed by Brian’s accomplishments. When a demonic chain letter circulates through his office, Brian’s jealous co-workers put him in Lucy’s crosshairs. Lucy, however, sees an opportunity, and offers Brian the chance to escape his grisly fate by applying his business prowess to the derelict processes of Hell. If he can increase productivity by fifty percent, Brian not only saves his own skin, but earns the opportunity to take over as the ruler of Hell in Lucy’s stead.Stuck between a rock and a hard place, Brian jumps in with both feet, exploring the curious business of Hell, and the currency of corrupted and damned souls. With the help of Dallas and Dahlia, Lucy’s twin children, Brian schemes to rebrand Hell as a corporate, money-making entity dealing in the fallacies of the human condition, from the consumption of addictive substances to the desires of the flesh. To succeed, Brian will explore Hell’s current defunct departments, volatile staff, and frivolous management while he loses sight of his own humanity. Struggling through opposing forces of Heaven, another contender for the throne, and his own damnation, Brian quickly discovers that this is the opportunity he’s been waiting for all his life.

Recenzii
“Positively corrupt and justifiably sinful, Brad’s story is entertaining and inventive. Challenging our indoctrinated understandings of good vs evil, it will have you rooting for the “bad guy” whilst all the while promoting that holiest of ideals, that merit over birthright is the true road to success.”
