The Disappearance of Van Gogh

Autor Virginia Faure
en Limba Engleză Paperback
This is a fictional novella about two students who attend an Ivy League college. This college contains dominant departments in Science and Art. Every year the board meets to determine whether the art or the science departments are going to receive special funding. The science department has been working on fabricating a time machine to open a portal to any chosen time period. Due to this, the science department received the funding. The head of the board decides he wants to test the theory of the "Butterfly Effect" by sending someone back in time to kill famous Impressionist artist Vincent Van Gogh. When two of the art students find out, they go back in time to stop the killer and make sure Van Gogh lives his life the way he needed to. When Renee and Mark, the two art students, arrive in France it is December 23, 1888. The task is left up to Renee and Mark to stop the killer, save Vincent Van Gogh, and place time back on track. Renee and Mark must rely on what they remember about Van Gogh's life to be sure time is not altered too much. There are many historical references that all line up with Van Gogh's life style to entertain the history buff while it serves to keep the reader guessing as to how the life events of Vincent Van Gogh come to be in this story. A twist in time will make Renee wonder if it is worth it to keep Art History as it should be.
