God gave Adam the gift of speech. The language God gave him-the mother of all languages-enabled Adam to name the animals as God brought them up to him one by one. What if the Lord intended Adam and Eve to use this language to subdue the earth and to rule over its creatures? What if the image of God in them included the ability to do things with words that we can no longer do? That idea is the basis for the Earth-Two Adventures. When three children providentially discover a way to pass into Earth-Two, they enter a world where the ancient language of our first parents is still preserved. It is a world of danger where they must learn to trust in God, even as their skill in using the mother tongue increases.
