Notă biografică
Georgeta RATA has a PhD in Linguistics from the University in Bucharest (Romania). She is a qualified EFL teacher and has been teaching languages for over 36 years. Her extensive experience includes both standard English and several areas of ESP. She also has crosslinguistic expertise, having worked in French and Romanian, as well as English, and understands the practical issues involved in teaching and learning different languages and transferring research ideas from one language to another. She is a contributor to the English Profile research project and regularly organises international events in the field of education. She participates in the project Languages and Cultures in Time and Space carried out in Serbia. She published textbooks and dictionaries in Croatia, Romania, Serbia, and United Kingdom. She coauthored Compendium of Forage Technical Terms in English, French and Romanian (CSP, 2012), edited Language Education Today: Between Theory and Practice (CSP, 2009), Teaching Foreign Languages: Languages for Special Purposes (CSP, 2010), and Academic Days of Timisoara: Language Education Today (CSP, 2011), and coedited Social Sciences Today: Between Theory and Practice (CSP, 2010) Academic Days of Timisoara: Social Sciences Today (CSP, 2011), and Agricultural English (CSP, 2012).
